Saeki Yuzo : Emerging from the Urban Landscape
Saeki Yuzo
Saeki Yuzo (1898–1928) was a painter who lived a short but colorful life about a century ago in Osaka, Tokyo, and Paris. He portrayed scenes from each of these cities as he sought to find his own style of painting. Focusing on the three cities that the artist depicted in his work, this show takes a new look at Saeki’s creativity, exhibiting a total of over 100 works, including works shown for the first time as well as representative works by the artist. The first major retrospective for this artist in fifteen years, this exhibition is an opportunity to rediscover the appeal of Saeki Yuzo’s art.
